Now before you read any further, let me say that in my opinion you should spend the majority of your money on first preparing your home to "bug in" during a disaster before you start planning and spending on "bug out" gear. Unless you have no other choice than to leave your home, where do you think you will be the safest and most prepared if the SHTF? Your home.
I'd have my home stocked to last at least 30 days before I ever started planning a BOB. That doesn't include planning a GHB. See the next page for my ideas on those. It's just smart to keep an emergency bag in your vehicle. Anywho before I ramble farther...

At the bottom of this page there is a YouTube video.

The front view shows an internal 2L water bladder and a Gerber Steadfast knife.
Back view shows an attached MOLLE kit and two USGI 1qt. canteens* with cups.
*Since posting this I have ordered 2 Nalgene Oasis canteens to replace those. Screw it. I'm not making the effort to update this picture or my video.

What is a sillcock key? You know those water spigots outside of most every grocery store, convenience store,

Yes, my bag is too damn heavy. And I don't care. If the SHTF, it's going in the back of the bug out vehicle...not on my back. If TEOTWAWKI hits, well guess what, Sunshine...I survived the SHTF and will have plenty of time to tweak the weight if needed. Until then, my ass plans to roll out in my whip. A/C on full tilt tyvm.
